Minnesota & Illinois vacation and other fun moments.

Boden and Hutson were really excited to take the plane to see mom and grandma and grandpa and cousin Deb, Ryder, John, Maddie and great grandma.

Dad got to the airport early and the boys rode the conveyor belt up and down, multiple times. On the flight, they fought over who got to sit by the window but ended up taking turns between the two flights. On the flight they got little wings and snacked on juice and pretzels. Overall a great trip.

I picked them up the airport and they were very curious about the rental car, thinking I bought a new car or where was our car. Big topic.

We got to Grandma and Grandpa’s and the boys found all the toys from all the other grandchildren.

During the trip, Boden was taught how to fish by Uncle Tod. They both caught a fish out of the pond but were not really interested in taking it off the hook.

We also went to the corn festival downtown Illinois where Boden tried rock climbing and did a really great job.

Our final day in Illinois, we went to a little amusement park. Boden and I went on this ride where it was bumper cars in the water. Hutson bailed out last minute. When other kids got in the cars, little did we know that we were going to get sprayed. Somehow I got all the water and Boden tried firing at the other kids but we were too easy of a target and got soaking wet. We then went to the go-carts. Boden was just tall enough to ride with Dad. Hutson wasn’t and was so upset. He kept trying to stand on his tippy toes to so his head would reach the minimum height line. He cried so hard on the other side of the fence when we saw Boden racing around the race track with Dad.

We were off to Minnesota! Hugs all around to Grandma, Grandpa, Dara, Tod and TJ. Aubrey unfortunately wasn’t able to make it.

We made it to Minnesota and Hutson made a new friend with Brandy, Deb and John’s lab. He followed her everywhere and hung on her, played with her tail. Boden was too busy trying out a motorized 4-wheeler. Boden and Hutson got super attached to both Maddie and Ryder, even still ask about them. They totally idolized Ryder. At night right before bed-time, all the kids would run around the house. Maddie and Ryder would dress up in Halloween costumes and chase them around to spook them.

The kids were determine to teach Boden how to ride a bike. So one morning, they encouraged him and sure enough, with me running right beside him, he pedaled and rode the bike by himself! Everyone was really excited.

We also went to see great grandma. The boys had a blast running around the farm. They got to feed the cows apples and Hutson totally fell in love with Bear, Grandma’s dog. The boys totally were great with their great grandma giving her hugs and kisses.

We went to a BBQ to aunt Barbara’s and everyone was there. It was so great for the boys to meet: Sharon, Parker, Uncle John, Michael, Daniel, Ella. There was a big crew there.

The flight home was uneventful, just a lot of iPad time. When we got home, the boys wanted to see Ryder and Maddie and go back to their house. It was a great trip.

Boden is obsessed with Mom’s iPhone at the moment. Dad said, “It’s time to give the phone  a break!” Boden’s response, “No it still wants me!”

Hutson’s new word is “why?” Why this, why that. Everything is, “why”.

Hutson has also ended up in our bed since the last month. He says their our monsters in his room. You ask him to go show you and he just points to the thin air. But he definitely thinks there are monsters. He loves to snuggle and does this thing where he forces the snuggle, by wrapping your arm wrapping it around his body and snuggles it. He is a professional snuggler

I asked Hutson the other day why he was twisting his penis so much. “Do you have to go to the bathroom?”  “No I’m just giving it some exercise.”

I took the boys the dentist last week. They’ve been before about a year ago. They were really excited to go to the dentist. Of course they had to explore everything in the office. Boden went first. He was really cooperative. Opened his mouth wide. Had x-rays taken. They hurt a bit so the hygienist used a softer film. He even used the spit spout. When the Hygienist asked Boden if his dad helped him brush his teeth, he said “yes,” and then went on to say, “my dad makes blankets. He sews them.”  For some reason Boden thinks Tim makes blankets…actually sews them.
