Outdoor soccer has begun again and the boys have taken to it in full stride. Both love their new coach who has as much energy as the rest of the team. Hutson appears to be a left footed player and Boden is right footed.
Last weekend, we thought it would be fun to have a one on one weekend. On Sat, Boden and Dad went to OMSI, lunch and the Library while mom and Hutson went to the zoo. On Sunday, Mom and Boden went to Playdate PDX while dad and Hutson took the train to the Children’s Museum. It was a great opportunity to spend some quality one on one time with each of the boys.
Boden’s appetite is back and he may be going thru a growth spurt. He has been ‘really really hungry’ before bedtime and has been eating an extra peanut butter sandwich and banana. Hutson eats just about anything. Tonight, we was eating cherry tomatoes like they were grapes.
Bode wanted to ride his bike and now requested his training wheels off. This is wanting to be like his friends Layton and Aven. Bode has practiced quite a bit and is still trying to get the hang of riding on two wheels. Hutson on the other hand is very happy on his scooter.
The family was out running errands when we ran across a wishing well. I explained to the boys how it works. Make a wish and throw a penny in the well. So, Boden goes first and says…”I wish we all could stay together forever”. Boden is making huge strides with his swimming. He puts his face in the water, makes “rocket arms” over his head and kicks like crazy. It’s great.
Mom brought home soccer jersey’s for the boys on Friday night. Red shirts and black shorts. They put them on straight away and didn’t take them off until Sunday…slept in them both nights. The only time they had them off was when we had to wash them.
Hutson is dressing himself and putting his coat and shoes on by himself. He is so independent. He also likes to tell stories to himself. Tonight he told the story about how he was climbing a ladder and fell and cried. Then Bapa picked him up and gave him a hug.
Tonight, after putting the boys to bed, Hutson woke up and walked to mom and dad’s room saying. “Dad, you need to put me to bed”.
Boden has taken a liking to skiing. We went up last weekend and Boden took another lesson. By the end of the day, he was cruising by himself, around cones and turns. He had a blast and was exhausted at the end of the day. On Sunday, he was very upset he couldn’t get back up to the mountain for another day of “Cutting the Mountain”.
Boden heard that Hutson was having a BM and thought he’d be helpful and wipe Hutson’s butt. After doing so, he tells us that “I’m an expert butt wiper” matter of factly. Then he said I’ll wipe anyones butt.
Boden is making huge strides with his swimming lessons. He is able to put his face in the water and hold his breath. He can also put his hands above his head like a ‘rocket’ and float while kicking. In addition, he is starting to develop his front crawl.
Hutson and Grace were at the Zoo and watching the Hippos. One of the hippos had his back side facing Hutson and Hutson said…”the hippo has a big butt. I have a little butt. Grace has a hippo butt”.
