The boys have had a busy February and are not slowing down. We went to the beach two consecutive weekends as the weather was in the upper 50s lower 60s with little wind. We played baseball, flew kites, built sandcastles played in the water, threw sand, chased sea gulls, made new friends, had picnics, ate ice cream and overall just relaxed and had a great time. Boden got into playing baseball. He has a good eye and connected on a few sending the ball sailing. Looks like he’ll be a right handed batter. On one pitch, he smacked it right back at dad and hit me right between the eyes. Hutson looks like he will be a left handed batter showed a little pop as well.
Mom went on a long trip and each night the boys would count down the number of sleeps till mommy got home. Bode would say…”how many sleeps dad?” He usually got the number correct and then Hutson would repeat the number. Then Boden would ask, “Is mommy going to bring us a surprise?” Of course she is.
Hutson has been getting himself dressed in the morning and taking off his clothes all by himself the last month or so. He is fiercely independent, not wanting help until the last second when he gets stuck. Yesterday, when Grace arrived, she forgot her carseats. She called mom and when mom returned home, the boys hollered out “mom, you took our car seats”…like it was mom who took them out of Grace’s car.
Grace had put Hutson in his seat and was buckling him in when he leaned over and kissed her on the arm. He said, ‘Thank you Grace”.
“Happy Birthday Me” Today is Huton’s 3rd birthday. Mom took the morning off and spent they spent the day together. Went to OMSI, had some coffee and a visit to REI to pick up his new bicycle. He loves his new bike and just to be fair, Bode got a new bike too.
Hutson’s party was last Saturday and all his buddies attended…Boden, Dylon, Beckett, Dash, Reese, Layton and Zavier. The theme was race cars. We built a race track around the house and raced scooters. The boys had a great time. At cake time, all the boys took a seat around the table and saw Hutson lick the cake. Yum. The cake was in the shape of a 3 and in the form of a race track. Thanks mom. After we sang and started to cut the cake, Hutson got out of his chair and grabbed a plate. Everyone said Hutson, please get back in your chair, but he kept going and gave his friend Beckett the plate.
Boden last night said, you didn’t put anything on the door…in reference to his birthday when we decorated his bedroom door while he slept and woke up to a nice surprise. Amazing that he remembered.
Boden has advanced in his swimming classes. He can now hold his breath for 10 seconds or more. Amazing as last session he was not putting his face under water.
So mom broke her I phone and this sent shockwaves thru Boden and Hutson’s lives. Both were in shock and were suffering from some form of PTSD.
Boden and Hutson were having a conversation and Boden tells Hutson to “listen to my words Hutson”. Boden then got frustrated that Hutson was doing his own thing and started to cry and Hutson replied…”Bode, stop crying”. Hutson just said `”I want to kiss your computer mama”.
Boden said today…”Mommy, tomorrow it’s Mohsen’s birthday”. Mohsen is Pascha’s dad. Pretty funny,
As I put Hutson to bed tonight, I said…”I love you Hutson. Happy Birthdya and good night.” He responded…”Thank you. Now go away”.
